Epic Heart and Vascular Care is excited to announce a full-time opening for a Physician Assistant in Cardiovascular Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of highly skilled and trained physicians who utilize cutting-edge technology and innovative procedures to deliver exceptional care to patients diagnosed with heart or major blood vessel diseases.

Position Details:

  • Full-time position
  • In-Patient Rotation Rounding
  • Utilization of E-clinical Works EHR
  • Acute Care and Follow-up Visits in a clinical setting
  • Diagnosis and treatment of all forms of heart and blood vessel diseases

Requirements to Apply:

  • Active Texas PA license
  • Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Cardiology experience preferred but not required

The Physician Assistant (“PA”) must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold a current PA license in the State of Texas. The PA will work closely with the supervising physician and will be responsible for meeting CME requirements to maintain certification and licensure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing patients with conditions such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation/flutter, PVCs, VT, CHF, stroke, PAD and CAD
  • Provide care to inpatients and outpatients
  • Evaluate a patient’s vital signs, document care in medical records, aid in diagnosing conditions and diseases, offer lifestyle, medical, and dietary suggestions, and assist in developing and adhering to a treatment plan, including prescribing medications for cardiology patients in the cardiology office setting
  • Review all appropriate and routine laboratory results, x-rays, EKGs, and other comparable non-invasive procedures
  • Participate in follow-ups with patients with implanted cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers
  • Collaborate on cardiac consultations requested by other medical specialties, including emergency room physicians/hospitalist
  • Independently and collaboratively conduct assessments and planning for cardiology patients with physicians.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
