Full Job Description

Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The hospital offers a variety of services for a culturally diverse community, including Bariatric Surgical Service, Ambulatory Care Center, Women’s Health Center, Wound Care Center, and Chemical Dependence Unit. Our busy on-site full-service pharmacy provides prescription services to discharged, emergency department, and clinic patients as well as employees.

The Physician Assistant Supervisor provides assistance to the Attending Physicians in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. The P.A. Supervisor oversees the Orthopedic Physician Assistants and provides training and education to new and existing physician assistants.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Orthopedic Physician Assistants, providing guidance and support.
  • Oversee the scheduling, workload distribution, and performance evaluations of Physician Assistants.
  • Assists with recruitment and training of new Physician Assistants.
  • Serve as clinical resource and mentor for Physician Assistants, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Address performance issues and provide constructive feedback to Physician Assistants.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Investigate patient complaints and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints related to PA services, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, facility policies, and clinical protocols.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the PA team to discuss best practices, and address clinical challenges.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership clinical role.
  • NYS PA License
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $170,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
