Nurse Practitioner Job Description

This role requires excellent clinical judgment and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who has a true passion for working with children. The ideal candidate will take the time to build meaningful connections with our patients and their families; learning about their interests, milestones, and health goals.

Responsibilities:– Conduct physical examinations and record medical history of patients- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses- Prescribe medications and monitor patient response to treatment- Educate and engage with families about their children’s health and wellness- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies

ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in pediatric care or family medicine preferred.
  • Ability to perform well-child exams, developmental screenings, and manage common pediatric illnesses.
  • Experience with immunizations and preventive care guidelines
  • Proficient in EMR documentation.
  • Ability to interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Knowledge of prescribing appropriate medications for pediatrics patients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both children and caregivers.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with patients of all ages
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Detail oriented and thorough in documentation and follow up care
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and support staff
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a busy clinical environment

Professional Credentials:

  • Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in Texas
  • Certification by an accredited national board
