Physician Assistant-Cardiology | Permanent Role

  • Location: Plano, TX, 75093
  • Shift: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 8 per week
  • Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Assess patients’ physical and mental condition through comprehensive or problem-focused exams and medical histories
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate lab and other diagnostic tests to assess health problems and needs
  • Prescribe or recommend appropriate medical drug therapies or other treatments per approved protocols, focusing on safety, efficacy, and cost
  • Develop and implement evidence-based, outcomes-focused treatment plans, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams as appropriate
  • Evaluate patients’ responses to care and adjust plans accordingly
  • Counsel patients and families on disease processes, medication, nutrition, health promotion, and risk behavior modification
  • Maintain thorough, accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiate timely referrals or consultations beyond scope of practice
  • Provide consultative services within area of specialty and training
  • Manage patients in alternate healthcare settings beyond the clinic (e.g., inpatient, emergency services, procedural areas)
  • Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice and delegated privileges

Key Success Factors:

  • Solid knowledge of diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases, and conditions, including preventive care and drug interactions
  • Understanding of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in using computers and related software
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive, outcomes-based treatment plans
  • Ability to counsel patients on physical and psychological conditions, treatment plans, and behavior change
  • Competence in interpreting and evaluating lab and diagnostic tests

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Experience: More than 1 Year of Experience (cardiology)
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas
    • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
