Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to join our team of dedicated primary care providers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive outpatient care with a strong emphasis on Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs), chronic disease management, preventive care, and patient education.

Physician Assistants at Dao Medical Group play a vital role in frontline healthcare delivery. You will independently manage a panel of patients, conduct AWVs, and collaborate closely with supervising physicians and support staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Patient Volume: Manage a minimum of 25–30 patients per 8-hour shift
  • Annual Wellness Visits: Conduct and complete Medicare AWVs thoroughly, including reviewing health risk assessments, updating medical/social histories, setting screening schedules, and developing personalized prevention plans
  • Standard of Care:
  • Order labs, imaging, EKGs, vaccinations, and referrals as needed
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with patient needs
  • Administer or supervise in-clinic treatments and injections
  • Minor Procedures (if trained or willing to be trained):
  • Wound care, lesion removal, incision & drainage, joint/bursa/cyst injections, etc.
  • Clinical Documentation:
  • Timely and accurate EMR entries using appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
  • Complete forms such as EDD, DMV, housing, N-648 (Citizenship), and AWV templates as appropriate
  • Patient Education: Counsel patients and families on chronic disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle changes, and health maintenance
  • Care Coordination: Communicate with hospitals, specialists, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
  • Administrative Duties: Participate in audits, chart reviews, quality improvement activities, and staff training
  • Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with nurses, MAs, and front office staff
  • Attend and participate in meetings, CME sessions, and health fairs
  • On-Call Duties: Answer patient-related calls after hours during your assigned on-call week (1x/month)

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active, unrestricted California PA license
  • Valid DEA registration and BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR), Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Fluency in Vietnamese is highly preferred (serving a largely Vietnamese-speaking community)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Knowledgeable in AWV guidelines, preventive care standards, and chronic disease management
