As a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine, you will play a vital role ensuring timely assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients with acute conditions. Your expertise will support rapid decision-making, initiate lifesaving treatments, and foster an environment where every patient receives respectful, evidence-based care. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment, Stabilization & Emergency Procedures
- Initiate and manage treatment for acute medical, surgical, psychiatric, and trauma-related conditions under established protocols and in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform entire patient care continuum of urgent care and acute patients in the Emergency Department
- Perform initial assessments, order/interpret diagnostics, exercise treatment algorithms, and arrange appropriate disposition for patients of all ages
- Utilize available physician resources appropriately
- Demonstrate high confidence in treating patients
- Available for Primary Patient Care including review of lab/x-ray reports, medication refills, patient referral, patient education, health maintenance, and symptom management
Qualifications: Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Certification & Clinical Skills
- Master’s Degree or higher
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Valid Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) in the state of New Mexico (NM)
Schedule and Shift Details: Emergency Medicine PA Position in Socorro, NM
- 1728 clinical hours per year, 12×12 hour shifts per month (11am-11pm), 30-35 patients per day, No Call Physician on every shift
