Full Job Description
1099 Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Compensation: $80 – $100 hourly
Predictable hours and flexible PRN scheduling
Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our innovative team and play a key role in conducting single-visit History & Physical (H&P) evaluations for veterans and general patients. These non-treatment, non-follow-up visits allow you to leverage your clinical expertise without the typical constraints of primary or urgent care practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity for providers looking to complement their current practice, pivot from traditional clinic overload, or embrace more predictable, stress-reduced patient encounters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Conduct thorough, efficient, and accurate H&P evaluations for veterans and general DPC members.
-
Document findings according to best practices and veteran disability exam standards.
-
Maintain respectful, patient-centered communication, upholding our commitment to dignified care.
-
Collaborate seamlessly with administrative and clinical team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
-
Deliver hassle-free, direct primary care that puts patients and providers first.
-
Zero clinical overload: No inbox management, no treatment follow-ups, no on-call.
Qualifications:
-
Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Illinois (or ability to obtain).
-
Board certification as applicable (FNP, PA-C).
-
Strong history-taking and physical examination skills.
-
Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
-
Commitment to compassionate, respectful patient interactions.
-
Prior experience in family medicine, primary care, urgent care, or veterans’ disability exams is highly desirable but not required.
