Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our orthopedic surgical team. This is a full-time, day-shift role that includes first-assisting in the operating room, evaluating and treating patients in clinic, and assisting with hospital rounds. The ideal candidate is a proactive, adaptable provider who thrives in a fast-paced orthopedic environment and is passionate about musculoskeletal health and surgical care.
Schedule & Call
- Hours: Monday–Friday, regular business hours
- Call: Participation in evening, weekend, or holiday call may be required
Primary Responsibilities
- First-assist in orthopedic surgical procedures
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic conditions in clinic under physician supervision
- Perform joint injections, wound care, casting/splinting, and other in-office procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Document patient encounters, orders, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in inpatient rounds and coordinate hospital discharges
- Educate patients and families on orthopedic conditions, procedures, surgeries, rehabilitation, and recovery
- Assist in administrative tasks related to patient care when needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) credential
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Pennsylvania
- BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Preferred Experience & Skills
- Orthopedic or surgical PA experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, orthopedic surgical techniques, and postoperative care
- Skilled in casting, splinting, suturing, and minor procedures
- Proficient with EMR systems and standard clinical technology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure
- Comfortable with physically demanding tasks (e.g., long periods of standing, assisting with patient mobility)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume clinical setting
Additional Competencies
- Familiarity with medical ethics, aseptic technique, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
- Understanding of orthopedic pharmacology and medication administration
- Capacity to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a care team

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
