Nurse Practitioner Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, perform assessments, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to our patients, ensuring their well-being and promoting health education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
- Administer medications and manage treatment plans as prescribed.
- Perform diagnostic procedures including medical imaging and gastric lavage when necessary.
- Provide family planning services and educate patients on health maintenance.
- Execute airway management techniques as needed in emergency situations.
- Suture wounds and manage minor surgical procedures.
- Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with ICD-10 coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in patient care within a hospital setting.
Schedule: 7p-7a, 7 on/7 off
Patient Volume: 4-6 admissions, cross-coverage of 100 patients
Beds: 349
Closed ICU
No procedures or codes required
Team Structure: 12 physicians, 6 APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified

Skills
- Proficient in medication administration and patient care protocols.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation.
- Experience in family planning services and patient education.
- Competency in performing sutures and managing airway emergencies.
- Excellent patient assessment skills to identify health issues effectively.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and their application in diagnostics.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a hospital environment, demonstrating strong communication skills.
