Overview:

This position is located at WOMACK Army Medical Center, Fayetteville Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Fayetteville is a progressive city of 175,000 nestled between the Appalachian Mountains and the white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The region offers numerous historic sites, museums, entertainment venues, a historic downtown and award-winning golf courses. One of the area’s greatest assets is its thriving arts and cultural community. Theatre, symphony orchestras, and museums are available, in addition to the numerous festivals and special events held throughout the year. Fayetteville city parks offer a variety of leisure activities, programs and facilities. The city is home to professional hockey and indoor football teams. The region is served by three institutions of higher learning: Fayetteville State University, Methodist University and Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Responsibilities:

As a Physician Assistant (Orthopedic) your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform medical screening examinations for obtaining health and medical history from patients.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic physicians in patient management evaluation and revision of therapeutic plans.
  • Diagnose patients within an orthopedic clinic.
  • Assist orthopedic surgeon in the Operating Room with minor surgical procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and their family members of treatment and medical care.
  • Prescribe medication in accordance with approved treatment protocols.
  • Provide comprehensive, professional skilled care of patients seeking orthopedic treatment.

Qualifications:

US Citizenship Required
All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.
At least one year as a physician assistant -ortho experience
