Full Job Description
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical exams focused on gastrointestinal health.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI disorders such as GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and pancreatitis.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work, imaging, and endoscopic findings.
- Assist in GI procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, and capsule endoscopy, as applicable.
- Educate patients on conditions, treatments, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Participate in inpatient consults and follow-up care, including hospital rounds.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with nursing staff, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
- Participate in quality improvement, research, or education initiatives as needed.
- Master’s degree from an accredited PA program.
- Current state PA license and NCCPA certification.
- DEA license and prescriptive authority (or eligibility).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in internal medicine, gastroenterology, or related field preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
