Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who enjoys working in a structured outpatient environment. The right candidate is skilled (or excited to be trained) in managing chronic pain patients, developing treatment plans, and preparing individuals for interventional procedures including but not limited to:
- Epidural Steroid Injections
- Medial Branch Blocks
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials
- Kyphoplasty
- Minuteman Procedures
Your strengths include clinical attention to detail, empathetic communication, and a commitment to practicing within defined medication management guidelines. You’re proactive, team-oriented, and passionate about improving quality of life for your patients.
Role Overview
As an APP on our care team, you will independently manage a panel of patients while also collaborating closely with pain management physicians and support staff. Your primary responsibilities will involve evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedural preparation for a range of chronic pain conditions.
This position offers a strong balance of autonomy and collaboration, with clear clinical protocols to guide medication management, patient education, and follow-up care.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct full patient assessments and physical exams
- Order and evaluate diagnostic studies
- Design and execute personalized treatment plans
- Oversee therapy outcomes and adjust interventions as needed
- Provide education and counseling on pain management strategies
- Coordinate referrals to other specialists
- Discharge non-compliant patients in accordance with clinic policy
- Administer joint, trigger point, and nerve block injections (with or without ultrasound)
- Review and process medication refills, faxes, and prescription monitoring reports
- Refer at-risk patients to appropriate internal programs
- Interpret lab and imaging results to support care plans
- Participate in a once-annual “second call” rotation
Qualifications & Credentials
- Graduate of an accredited U.S.-based NP or PA program (not including Puerto Rico)
- Active, unrestricted license in Arizona
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- DEA license (or eligibility)
- Current BLS certification
