OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join the team responsible for working at the Dept of Health in Jacksonville. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to aid in patient care decisions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including Botulinum toxin treatment when necessary.
  • Provide education to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in clinical settings.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record systems such as Cerner and Epic.
  • Assessment and treatments of patients: Conduct patient assessments and provide treatments.
  • Clinical documentation in Electronic Health Record: Maintain accurate records in systems like Cerner and Epic.
  • Submission of timesheets: Ensure timely submission of timesheets.
  • Equipment: Utilize provided equipment, including laptop, PC, and mouse.
  • Mode of Interview: Participate in phone or virtual interviews.
  • BG: Undergo FP level 2 background check.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of critical care practices, particularly in ICU settings.
  • Proficiency in infection control measures to ensure patient safety.
  • Experience with infectious disease care and senior care management is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with clinical research methodologies to contribute to ongoing studies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in patient assessments and documentation.
  • Adaptability to utilize various healthcare systems effectively for patient management.
  • Skill: At least 6 months of infectious disease patient care and computer efficiency.
  • Mandatory: Current/eligible license for Florida Physician.
