The Role and What You’ll Do: Maintains detailed medical records for all athletes Reviews athlete imaging and provides recommendations for treatment; Must be able to independently diagnose an injury / illness, Collaborates with Chief Medical Officer and UFC PI/AML to influence decision making on injury plan of care (i.e. conservative vs. surgical) Ensures that all athletes receive appropriate and timely medical care. Upholds the highest standards of medical ethics in all decision-making processes Regularly updates the team on the health status of athletes via our weekly meetings Capability to call in prescriptions for athletes from PI Communicates with athletes via FaceTime to consult/evaluate injuries, conducts rehab follow-up assessments, provides follow-up post-fight evaluations if athlete remains in Vegas, and coordinates care with other medical specialists as needed Assists UFCPI with concussion management and provides concussion clearances Assists with ordering and reviewing diagnostic imaging and provides imaging recommendations based on the athletes’ complaints Maintains emergency action plans and ensures all medical equipment is ready and available Administers non-surgical treatments utilizing MSK U/S when appropriate to perform injections, Orthobiologics, corticosteroids, and assist with prescription medications. Assists with event coverage to ensure the highest standards of care. Ensures cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of care. Ensure compliance with various commission regulations and AML policies. You Have These: Must possess an active, unrestricted medical license; a background in sports medicine is preferred. MSK Ultrasound certification and proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound techniques required. Must possess an active DEA license. Ability to obtain Nevada State medical and pharmacy licenses. Sports medicine – Preferably candidate participates in or conducts research related to sports medicine and athlete health. Candidates must stay updated with the latest research and advancements in sports medicine. Knowledge and awareness of combat, contact, or collision sports. Knowledge of anti-doping regulations and banned substances is helpful. Knowledge of the PI facility and their rehabilitation and Physical therapy capabilities. Proficient in radiology and capable of assisting all UFCPI locations (Las Vegas, Mexico City, Shanghai) with radiology interpretation. Ability to perform and interpret specialized diagnostic tests such as stress test, EMG, and nerve conduction studies. Ability to perform sutures/stitches is preferred Proven ability to implement evidence-based practices to enhance athlete care and performance. Ability to travel and support domestic and international UFC events.
