Job Title: Instructor – Physician Assistant – Functional & Reconstructive Urology (FRU)

Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant will work with the supervising physician, Dr. Brian J. Flynn, to provide comprehensive care to patients with functional and reconstructive urological needs. This includes but is not limited to, evaluating and managing men and women with urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, urethral strictures, BPH, and other complex urogenital conditions. The PA will participate in all aspects of patient care, from initial consultation and diagnosis to treatment planning, follow-up, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document detailed patient history, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans with the supervising physician, including medical management, behavioral therapies, and surgical interventions.
- Perform para-urethral balloon adjustments, cystoscopy, transrectal US, urethral catheterization, bladder instillation, and other procedures as appropriate and credentialed.
- Interpret urodynamics
- Fill out our surgical request forms in epic
- Assist in surgical procedures as needed.
- Direct patient pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Complete pre-op evaluations, day of surgery orders and instructions, post-operative care, follow-up calls, FMLA paperwork, peer-to-peer reviews, prior authorizations…
- Assist Brian J. Flynn in clinic and procedures.
- Educate FRU patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and self-care management.
- Manage patient follow-up care, including monitoring treatment response and adjusting treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Stay current with functional and reconstructive urology advancements through continuing medical education and professional development.
- Adhere to all established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Manage Epic Inbox for supervising physician Dr. Brian J. Flynn, 2x/day
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current and valid PA license in Colorado.
- Current DEA license.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- 5 years experience in urology, preferably focusing on functional and reconstructive urology, is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with urodynamic testing and interpretation.
- Familiarity with pelvic floor physical disorders, therapy and biofeedback techniques.
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques in urology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of urological conditions and treatments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$99,008 to $132,662
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
