Title: Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) to support our Vascular & Interventional Radiology department based in Fairfax, VA.This role reports to the Director of the FVC & the Vascular & Interventional Radiology (IR) Section Chief; Under the direction of the FRC Physicians for clinical matters and oversees inpatient and outpatient clinical service at designated location. The primary location is in Fairfax between Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC), INOVA Fair Oaks (IFOH), INOVA Alexandria (IAH), INOVA Loudoun (ILH) & Fairfax Vascular Center (FVC).
Job Responsibilities:
The IR APP assists in coordination of care for patients who are recommended for Vascular & Interventional Radiology procedures. In collaboration or under the direction of the IR MDs, APP’s role is to oversee inpatient and outpatient services at any of the INOVA Hospitals listed above & Center (FVC), including consultations, rounding and supporting Interventional Radiology procedures.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the Vascular & Interventional Radiology (IR) inpatient clinical service under the guidance of the IR MDs as well as assist with consultations, follow-ups, and procedures within the scope of service at any of the above listed INOVA facility and FVC.
- Inpatient- pre/post procedure rounding, inpatient admissions, charting, discharge summaries and orders, and participate in coordination of inpatient care.
- Outpatient- coordinates discharge planning, patient prescriptions, follow-up imaging studies and follow-up office visits at any of the above listed INOVA facilities and FVC.
- Comply with all federal and state laws to include HIPAA.
- Follows FRC’s expectations for all employees (above).
- Participate in Adverse Incident Reporting Program
Other Duties:
1. Participate in and provide support for our Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
2. Assume other related duties as requested.
3. Under the guidance of the department Physicians, host telemedicine patient visits for routine follow-up and more basic consultations.
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ current experience working as a PA or NP required.
- Procedural based experience is also required. Preferred procedural experience to include, but not limited to the following:
– Port placements and removals
– PICC lines and Midlines
– Thoracentesis
– Paracentesis
– IR experience highly preferred
- Must be a licensed Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Must have Prescriptive authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current ACLS/AED required/ PALs certification preferred.
- Must meet hospital and insurance credentialing requirements.
- Requires knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and be able to continuously move throughout the office/hospitals as well as remain in a stationary position throughout the day. Must be able to physically assist patients, as needed.
- Must be able to move and transport files of 10-20 pounds.
- Must maintain professional clinical presentation.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
