The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practicing Provider for its Generalist Division. This position will be 100% clinical billable and located in community-based clinical locations throughout the greater Cincinnati area. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians to deliver comprehensive, competent, and trauma-informed care.
Essential Functions
- Working collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians and providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
- Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Align care delivery with public health priorities through strategic partnership with local community health organizations.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students, residents and medical students.
- Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries.
- Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records, and complete in a timely fashion per department standards.
- Seek the consult of supervising physicians when needed and participate in case/chart review.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
- Complete all trainings in a timely fashion.

Minimum Requirements
Nurse Practitioner:
Required Education Master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program. Required Trainings/Certifications
- Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years nursing experience.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.

Physician’s Assistant:
Required Education Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Required Trainings/Certifications
- Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Required Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience is required.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
