Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Job Summary:We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join and grow our functional medicine practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traditional medicine and a passion for a holistic, integrative approach to healthcare. As a Functional Medicine Practitioner, you will assess and treat patients by addressing the root causes of their health issues through a personalized, patient-centered care model. You will work collaboratively with physicians, dietitians, and other health professionals to optimize patient health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conduct in-depth patient evaluations that include medical histories, physical examinations, lab tests, and symptom reviews to understand the root causes of chronic conditions.
- Develop Personalized Treatment Plans: Utilize functional medicine principles to design customized care plans that may include hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle modifications, nutrition counseling, supplementation, and other appropriate medical interventions.
- Patient Education and Empowerment: Educate patients on the principles of functional medicine, prevention, and self-care practices to empower them to take charge of their health.
- Monitor Progress: Track and assess patient progress over time, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on outcomes, lab results, and patient feedback.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Stay Current with Functional Medicine Practices: Continuously research and stay informed about new developments in functional medicine, integrative health, and alternative treatments to provide the best care for patients.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program.
- Functional Medicine training or certification ().
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Current, unrestricted NP or PA licensure in Michigan
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in family or internal medicine or ICU and/or functional medicine, integrative medicine, or a related field.
- Experience with women’s health
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Passion for a holistic and integrative approach to healthcare.
- Previous experience working in a functional or integrative medicine clinic.
- Willingness to continue education and professional development in functional medicine.
Working Conditions:
- Part to full time; Monday through Thursday
- Opportunities for ongoing training and certifications in functional medicine and hormone replacement therapy.
