We are a RAPIDLY growing PM&R practice, now expanding into the Rockford, IL and Milwaukee, WI area.
Medlux is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation group that has been providing care to thousands of patients at multiple locations since 2007.
We are a medical group owned and operated by a Physiatrist.
Our model is to partner our Physiatrist(s) and Mid-level Practitioners with rehab centers, skilled nursing facilities, and other rehabilitation therapists (aka Multi-Specialty Treatment Teams) to provide our patients with well-rounded physician-directed rehabilitation care.
We are looking for Nurse Practitioners, who are passionate about their work, who puts the patient first, and who think they would make a great asset to our team of leading specialists.
Our Mid-level providers play an essential role in assessing and managing a patient acute & chronic health care needs. With Medlux you will:
- Serve as a coordinator of care and support patient with facilitating a self-management plan via a POC.
- Educate patients & families on pain management, on how to promote safety and wellness in the home environment in order to improve functional abilities and maximize their quality of living.
- Anticipate pain control needs to gain optimum results from therapy activities.
- Revise Plan of Care if the pain is not appropriately controlled.
To qualify you must have:
Licensure: Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois and Wisconsin; DEA registration a must. Board Certified Preferred, but not required.
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing; Board Certification required; BLS, PA Degree
Competence:
- Determine origin and type of care needed (orthopedic, neurological, surgical, musculoskeletal, etc.)
- Uses evidence-based guidelines and standards for pain management in rehabilitation patient populations
- Appropriately administer pharmacologic(s) by selecting appropriate analgesics and effective dosage schedules
- Implement noninvasive pain management modalities or alternative care needed for optimum functionality.
- Implement alternative medical management strategies when appropriate
- Trend the patient’s pain levels and responses to pain interventions – verbal and nonverbal reactions to pain management strategies
