We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with our physicians and medical staff to provide high-quality care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. The ideal candidate will have experience or an interest in interventional pain management and will be passionate about improving the quality of life for individuals dealing with pain-related conditions.Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests. Assess patients’ conditions and work with the healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Assist in or perform interventional pain management procedures (e.g., spinal injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, etc.) under the supervision of a supervising physician.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, pain management techniques, and post-procedure care.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure continuity of care. Document patient progress and treatment responses in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Work closely with other healthcare providers, including physical therapists, psychologists, and nursing staff, to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, or interventional medicine is preferred, but not required. New graduates with a strong interest in pain management will also be considered.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to perform interventional procedures (with training), excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A strong commitment to improving the quality of life of patients dealing with chronic or acute pain, and the ability to provide empathetic care.
