Family Practice Physician Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant who is energetic and passionate about helping and working with a diverse population. The Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose and treat pediatric, adult medicine and gynecology patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Involved with direct patient physical assessment, education, and health planning
• Assists in the coordination of services with SJH Case Managers, other disciplines and patient’s insurance plans
• Clinical core privileges will include the management, treatment, and ordering, performing, and interpreting labs, radiography, and other diagnostics test for acute critical care disorders in the adult critical care population
• Advocates for patient in arrangement of medically necessary services;
• Communicates with community’s resources to ascertain adequate assistance for patients in need;
• Refers patients to specialty services when necessary;
• Consults with collaborating physician and other members of the health care team to establish plan of care;
• Maintains continuity of care by regular patient follow-up;
• Participates in quality assurance process to assure optimal care delivery;
• Provides comprehensive case management services that include emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention;
• Monitors patient outcome in accordance to the practice protocols;
• Collaborates with staff nurses and nursing administrators with assessment and clinical decision in patient care planning;
• Acts as a resource person for the nursing and medical assistant staff;
• Conducts education in service on practice issues;
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 1 year experience as a PA

Graduated from approved Physician Assistant Program;

Licensed as a Physician Assistant in New Jersey

Basic CPR (BCLS) certification required;

DEA Certification required

CDS Certification required
