Full Job Description
OverviewAs a Wound Care Physician Assistant, you will evaluate and treat patients with chronic wounds, diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and post-surgical wounds. You’ll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver evidence-based care and manage comprehensive wound treatment plans. This role offers flexibility in scheduling and a supportive work environment with opportunities for clinical growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and wound evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans
- Debride wounds as necessary using appropriate techniques
- Document care plans, progress notes, and follow-up in EMR
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound management and prevention
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment as needed
- Travel to outpatient clinics, facilities, or homes
- Stay updated on advancements in wound care techniques and technologies through continuous education and professional development
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical principles and practices related to wound care
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Knowledge of wound healing modalities (e.g., NPWT, skin substitutes)
- Excellent patient communication and education skills
- Time management and ability to work independently
- Adaptability to varied clinical environments
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to care
Qualifications
- Current California Physician Assistant License (PA-C)
- 1+ years of wound care experience strongly preferred
- Certification in Wound Care (WCC, CWCA, or equivalent) is a plus
- Excellent clinical judgment and strong documentation skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and patient-centered care philosophy
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- ACLS strongly preferred

Pay: $65.00 – $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week

- 10 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
License/Certification:
