Full Job Description

The University of Evansville invites applicants for a 12-month faculty position in the Physician Assistant Program. Responsibilities include teaching in the graduate PA Program, advising, scholarship, and service to the department, University, community, and the PA profession. The faculty member will also be actively involved in student recruitment, and the ongoing development and assessment of the PA Program and its outcomes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development, assessment, and evaluation of course objectives, content, and syllabi.
  • Provide student instruction and evaluation in classroom, skills labs, and simulation experiences.
  • Serve as an academic advisor in both didactic and clinical phases of the 28-month program.
  • Evaluate student performance, curriculum, and program outcomes.
  • Provide remediation to students as needed.
  • Participate in laboratory and small group interactive sessions.
  • Participate in student admission processes.
  • Participate in the program’s continuous self-assessment processes.
  • Actively participate in all ARC-PA accreditation activities when required.
  • Serve on program, department, school, and college committees.
  • Represent the program at professional, medical, and other meetings.
  • Assume any other related duties necessary to develop and maintain an effective program.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain all licenses and certificates necessary for employment eligibility.
  • Foster a collaborative and inter-professional culture in support of the UEPA mission.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in physician assistant science, or anticipated completion of such degree within one year.
  • Current NCCPA Certification.
  • Current or eligible for Indiana state licensure.
  • 3 years clinical experience.
  • Instructional and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Preferences:

  • Experience in PA education (adjuncts, preceptors, etc.).
  • Knowledge of program organization, administration, program review and analysis, planning, development, ARC-PA Standards, policies, and processes.

This Physician Assistant Program is currently housed in the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences in downtown Evansville, IN. This state-of-the-art multi-institutional campus provides unique opportunities for inter-professional experiences among faculty, as well as collaborative learning and research opportunities.
