OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide services to patients in the clinical care setting working within their scope of practice. Working as part of the patient care team in our Pasadena office, the APC will provide care for pulmonary, sleep, and internal medicine patients. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to diverse patient populations in our community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Obtain pertinent health history and perform appropriate physical examinations.
  • Formulate a diagnosis and plan related to the patient’s condition, and communicate those effectively to the patient.
  • Review labs, screening assessments, diagnostic studies, and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Prescribe and refill medication, including controlled substances, in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.
  • Act as the primary clinical point of contact and resource for patients that require evaluation for time-sensitive issues.
  • Address time-sensitive patient messages, labs, and other results tasked to the clinical team and communicate directly with the patient.
  • Timely completion of medical record documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Function as part of the Medical Group and clinical team, covering for providers. who are out, working with case management, collaborating with specialists and allied health professionals to maximize health outcomes.
  • Appropriately refer patients requiring specialty care and services.
  • Participate in performance and quality improvement activities as requested.
  • Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  • Manage patients in such a way as to optimize health outcomes and minimize inappropriate utilization of resources.
  • Respond to patient messages in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide occasional weekday/weekend call coverage via telephone.
  • All other duties as directed by management.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 – $140,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse Practitioner License in the State of CA.
  • State Nurse Practitioner Certification in appropriate specialty

OR

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program.

Experience:

  • 1-3 yrs. NP or PA experience with confidence to practice independently
  • Managed Care experience a plus
  • Maintain collaboration agreement with contracted supervising physician
  • Experience in both outpatient and hospital settings will be advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages

Pay: $130,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
