Burbank Urgent Care has served the Burbank community and the surrounding area for over 35 years. We are proud of our reputation for providing outstanding and compassionate patient care. We are a full-service urgent care with in-house labs and x-rays.

Burbank Urgent Care is one of the few urgent care in Los Angeles that has a physician on duty daily. We are seeking a dedicated full-time physician assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong medical background and be dedicated to patient care.

We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our team.

About the position:

To provide urgent care services to an ethnically and socially diverse patient population in accordance with protocols, policies, and procedures. To treat geriatric, adult, children/adolescents, obstetric, and/or gynecological patients with quality care and services.

Essential job functions:

  • Takes patient history and documents the chief complaint
  • Performs physical examinations identifying life-threatening situations
  • Formulate a diagnosis from patient history and physical examinations.
  • Administers or provides medications or issues or transmits a drug order necessary in the patient’s care.
  • Recognizes and evaluates situations that call for immediate attention or treatment procedures essential for the life of the patients.
  • Perform digital blocks and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, and foreign body removal.
  • Perform closed reductions of simple fractures and dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reduction.
  • Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances.
  • Order and interpret X-rays, lab results, and EKG.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of medical and related skills through reading, participation in seminars, and other educational duties. Timely completion of continuing education is required to maintain licensure.
  • Complete electronic health records and documentation for clinic sessions promptly and accurately. Ensure maintenance of electronic health records/documents in accordance with clinic policies and procedures, contractual obligations, and regulations
  • Prescribe active-controlled substances in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the State of California.

Position Requirements:

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • Certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Appropriate licensure in the State of California
  • Appropriate certification a t level of training, NCCPA, the continuation of 50 hours of CME as required by NCCPA every 2 years
  • Active DEA

Work Environment :

The environment for this position is an urgent care clinic that is clean and comfortable. It may include minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined setting where he/she is free to move about at will.

Physical Activity: Performs all or some of the tasks during the workday, standing, walking, reading, writing/typing, speaking, listening, and sitting.

When performing patient care:

  • May occasionally lift/carry items weigh up to 25 pounds, more with assistance
  • Will perform duties requiring a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients
  • Will utilize manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Will need normal/corrected vision and hearing to be within normal range.
  • Will experience frequent exposure to potentially infectious agents, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to an urgent care setting.

Pay: $70.00 – $80.00 per hour
