Physician Assistant – Orthopedics (Spine) | Outpatient & OR

Location: Westchester, NYJob Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)Number of Openings: 1

WPH is seeking a Physician Assistant with a primary focus on orthopedic spine care in a dynamic and high-volume orthopedic practice. Opportunity Highlights:

  • Schedule: 5×8-hour shifts per week
  • Role: Supporting 1 orthopedic spine surgeon in the office and OR (up to 2 days/week)
  • Primary Focus: Orthopedic spine care

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans
  • Perform orthopedic procedures including ultrasound-guided injections, casting, splinting, and joint aspiration/injections
  • First-assist in orthopedic spine surgery, including wound closure and post-operative care
  • Monitor therapies and ensure continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventative care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain medical records
  • Respond to patient inquiries and triage urgent concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Physician Assistant License
  • National PA Certification (NCCPA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient or inpatient orthopedics (spine experience preferred)
