Company Overview American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation. AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Job Summary To provide high-quality care to all patients. To assist in directing staff in the support of the care of our patients. Willing to work weekends and evenings. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams, medical histories, and patient interviews.
- Analyze patient symptoms, determine diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
- Diagnose acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate (within state regulations).
- Provide preventive care and counseling to patients on lifestyle and health improvement.
Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible – Emergency Room, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine (w/ER or UC experience)
- Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Active and current medical licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
