Full Job Description
Stamford Hospital’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a full-time physician assistant to add to their growing team! The Orthopedic Trauma team is comprised of approximately 12 full time PAs and the program provides 24/7/365 coverage.
Physician Assistants will provide care to patients with joint, sports medicine and spine injuries, and will perform a host of clinical and surgical duties, including but not limited to first assisting in the operating room (mostly add on trauma cases i.e. hip fractures & other urgent cases such as I/D for infection or open fractures), emergency department consultations, splints, injections, rounding & discharging patients on the floors, etc.
Schedule: Rotating days/nights/weekends. Either three 13hr shifts per week, 6a-7:30p or 6p-7:30a OR the option to cover a 24hr shift (6a-6a) alternating with a 14hr shift.
Requirements:
1) CT Physician Assistant License required upon hire
2) A minimum of 2 years of orthopedic surgery and/or orthopedic trauma strongly preferred. Schedule offered may vary depending on years of experience. Recent graduates must orient on a 4 x 10 schedule.
3) BLS certification required
4) ACLS certification required
