Manager of Advanced Practice Providers – Physician Assistant
A leading health system in Brooklyn is seeking a Manager of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to oversee Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants while ensuring patient safety, clinical excellence, and efficient departmental operations. This role involves both clinical care and administrative leadership, including staff supervision, program development, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:Staffing & Operations
- Oversee APP staffing, scheduling, and recruitment across departments.
- Manage schedule changes, time-off requests, and coverage gaps.
- Process payroll and serve as a liaison between APPs and department leadership.
- Maintain clinical responsibilities as an APP.
Education & Training
- Lead APP orientation, mentoring, and ongoing training.
- Ensure completion of required competencies and certifications.
- Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with educational and regulatory requirements.
Performance & Quality
- Implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient care.
- Monitor the quality of APP care and evaluate high-risk clinical encounters.
- Collaborate on regulatory inspections and risk management strategies.
- Oversee incident reporting compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with the AVP and Director of Advanced Practitioners to develop clinical programs.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to APP staff.
- Address complaints, ensure documentation compliance, and lead quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Board Certification as a PA through NCCPA (PA-C).
- New York State Physician Assistant License (current and in good standing).
- 3-5 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant (preferred).
- Leadership or supervisory experience in an advanced practice role (preferred).
- Strong communication, supervisory, and administrative skills.
- Experience in quality improvement, operations, and interdisciplinary collaboration is a plus.
Compensation:
- Salary: $130,000 – $150,000
