Position: Physician Assistant
Reports to: Medical Director (as assigned)
Summary: We are actively seeking Physician Assistants for our brand-new urgent care center in Warren, NJ. At Atlantic Health Urgent Care, a Physician Assistant provides comprehensive and compassionate care to patients of all ages, addressing a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Delivering timely, high-quality care to patients in urgent need.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations and the counseling of patients towards compliance with treatment
- Offer compassionate support to patients and their caregivers during the time of their urgent medical need/crisis
- Order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interpret results accordingly
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage, splinting, suturing, infection management and wound care
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and, moreover, deliver continuity of care (including referral of patients to specialists and to other relevant patient care components, as medically necessary and appropriate)
- Regularly communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information
Requirements:
- License (unrestricted and in good standing) as a Physician Assistant in the State of New Jersey
- Certified by the New Jersey
- Controlled dangerous substance registration with the State of New Jersey
- Registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice
- DOT certified or successful completion of certification within first 6 months of employment
- One (1) year experience as a PA in a clinical setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
