Job Description
Summary:
The Physician Assistant – Bone Marrow Transplant encompasses the role of the clinical expert, educator, consultant, quality analyst, researcher and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program leader. The Physician Assistant Bone Marrow Transplant utilizes quality metrics and research to support improvements in transplant care delivery and gene therapy grown and advancement. The Physician Assistant Bone Marrow transplant models professional clinical practice through leading and participating in staff education, attending and presenting at local and national conferences. The Physician Assistant – Bone Marrow Transplant is responsible for organizing and providing expertise in the gene therapy/Stem Cell Therapy (SCT) program. The position works collaboratively with health care providers, patients, families, and community groups to facilitate Bone Marrow, gene therapy and stem cell transplant care throughout the continuum of care.
Education And Credentials
Responsibilities:
Master Degree in Physician Assistant required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire. Physician Assistant Registered required upon hire. NIHSS Certification – Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) – Required within 6 months of hire/transfer (Kaleida Required). Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) – Required within 1 year of hire/transfer (Kaleida Required)
Experience
Other information:
2 years of experience in Pediatric Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant/Gene Therapy required.
