Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with the ability to work effectively in both acute and critical care settings. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient management, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities, and an understanding of various medical procedures including spinal taps and pain management techniques.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient evaluations.
- Perform medical procedures such as spinal taps, basic life support, and pain management interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Perform minor procedures such as treating lacerations, managing fractures, and first read, X-ray interpretation.
- Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) exams and maintain or obtain DOT
- certification prior to employment.
- Interpret and manage audio-grams, EKG, and pulmonary function tests, or demonstrate a willingness to learn these skills.
- Provide work-related injury care and assessments in compliance with occupational
- health standards.
- Familiar with Workman’s compensation injuries and communicating with companies
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in critical care and acute care practices is essential.
- Knowledge of physiology and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform inhalation therapies and other relevant medical procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
