Position Summary
Newport Mesa Pulmonary, located in Costa Mesa, CA is looking for an experienced, Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Incumbent is responsible for providing care, including assessing, and managing initial patient visits and ongoing patient care following established standards and practices. Compassionate, highly skilled individual to ensure the needs of patients and the clinic are upheld with the highest standards of treatment and patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum (2) year experience
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program OR graduate of an accredited RN and or NP Program
- Current licensure in the State of California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card
- National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
- Current DEA Registration Number
Responsibilities
- This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician
- Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with clinic policies
- Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to our client base
- Performs and documents health appraisals on clinic patients, including history, physical assessment and developmental evaluation as indicated
- Initiates preventative health counseling and health promotion, including immunizations
- Manages common acute problems in accordance with standardized procedures, and collaborates with physician in management of more complex or chronic problems
- Assesses problems/needs when patients call between visits, arranges for appropriate follow-up on referrals, consults with physician when indicated, and re-orders patient medication according to physician orders
- Reviews clinic patient’s laboratory work and notifies clinic nursed of abnormal findings or consults directly with Physicians.
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies, physicians and refers patients to outside resources as necessary

Pay: $130,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
