Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Puyallup, WA. The ideal candidate will have a background in primary care and geriatrics and will be able to provide comprehensive care to adult patients, primarily geriatric patients, working 2-days a week. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will be responsible for conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, ordering tests, and prescribing medications in a skilled nursing facility environment. The successful candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care services to adult patients, primarily geriatrics.
- Perform physical examinations, assessments of patients and develop treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as needed.
- Provide patient education and counseling.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification
- Strong knowledge of geriatrics and primary care practices
- Proficient in patient assessment and care, including catheterization and IV insertion
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Experience in critical care and assisted living settings is a plus
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 16 per week
