Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Badar in an ambulatory care setting, managing a diverse caseload of adult patients with pulmonary and sleep disorders. This role requires travel to two office locations throughout the week: our Houston location on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and our Sugarland location on Wednesday and Friday.
This position does not involve hospital services or call duties. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing independent clinic encounters and collaborating with our physician team to provide high-quality care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage common pulmonary and sleep disorders, such as asthma, emphysema, lung cancer, sleep apnea, and insomnia.
- Review and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies to guide treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate.
- Independently manage patient encounters in the clinic, under the supervision of the physician.
- Provide clinical management and follow-up via phone and email communication with patients.
- No hospital services or hospital calls required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program in the United States.
- Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Physician Assistant specialty.
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
- Spanish-speaking skills preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and other staff members
- Experience with scheduling software; familiarity with eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient records
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and care
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-player mentality
