Full Job Description

This position will share time between assisting in surgery (approximately two days a week) and running a clinic practice schedule (approximately two-three days a week).

The PA must have a strong desire to focus their clinical skills on general musculoskeletal acute and chronic injuries.

The Physician Assistant will join the advanced practitioner team and be required to take weekend call shared amongst 12 practitioners.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Work autonomously while maintaining a close working relationship with SBO Physicians.
  • Provide exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Possess strong communication and display professionalism when working with patients, families, and the community.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and comfort with all methods of patient electronic documentation and communication.
  • First assist for surgical cases
  • Rounding on inpatient cases

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Current certification by the NCCPA
  • Active Indiana Physician Assistant license with no restrictions
  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
