Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

About Us: Dermatology Associates of West Michigan is a leading dermatology practice dedicated to providing high-quality skin care to our patients. Our team of skilled professionals delivers comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team and help us continue to provide exceptional care.

Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with our dermatology team to deliver outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate will have prior dermatology experience and a strong understanding of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of skin conditions, performing minor surgical procedures, and providing cosmetic treatments as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and skin examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
  • Perform minor dermatologic surgical procedures, including punch and shave biopsies.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, preventative skin care, and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with dermatologists and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Stay up to date with the latest dermatology treatments, procedures, and advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Michigan.
  • National certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC for NPs; NCCPA for PAs).
  • Minimum of 2 years of dermatology experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a variety of dermatological conditions.
  • Experience performing dermatologic procedures and/or administering cosmetic treatments is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
