Oncology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner – Clinical Trial Sub-Investigator

Carolina Biooncology Institute Practice Highlights: Carolina BioOncology Institute PLLC (CBOI), founded in 2005 by John Powderly MD, is a community-basedindependent clinic, located in Huntersville, NC. The mission of the clinic is to provide access to early phase oncology clinical trials. CBOI has treated >5,000 oncology patients, opened > 170 early phase biopharma sponsored trials and performs >1,750 clinical research visits/year.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working, personable Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team as a Clinical Trial Sub-Investigator (SubI). The SubI is an integral part of the team that supports the implementation of clinical trials, following regulatory regulations, protocols, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Job Responsibilities

· Assist the Oncologist Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting clinical trials in compliance with all regulatory guidelines and protocols.

· Use the clinical trial protocols to determine appropriateness of potential clinical trial participants.

· Perform in-depth consent and screening of potential clinical trial participants.

· Perform history taking, clinical assessments, and physical exams to assess safety of the clinical trial investigational products.

· Perform symptom management for adverse events that occur during the clinical trial, with assignment of attribution/etiologies of the adverse events.

· Order diagnostic testing to assess and evaluate potential adverse events on the clinical trial.

· Interpret diagnostic tests to evaluate adverse events.

· Review of diagnostic imaging to determine treatment response of the clinical trial participant.

· Perform occasional hospital rounding on admitted clinical trial participants.

· Work collaboratively with referring providers, clinical trial sponsors, and all personnel involved in the clinical trial.

· Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation. Quality work is performed at all times.

· Full-time position, 40 hours/week. Phone triage call every approximately 3-4 weeks

Education, Licensure & Qualifications:

· Completion of an accredited PA or NP educational training program, and be licensed in NC.

· Require problem solving skills, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.

· Require the ability to be flexible with an ever-changing clinical trial environment.

· Require effective communications skills.

· Require the ability to work well with inter-departmental teams to ensure a healthy work environment.

· Require the willingness to continue to grow in an oncology research-based setting.

· Preference for 1+ years of oncology experience.

· Prefer candidates with knowledge of GCP and ICH guidelines.
