Job SummaryWe seek a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team at Macon Volunteer Clinic. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, focusing on preventive health measures, diagnosis, and treatment of various medical conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of medical protocols, excellent communication skills, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The NP/PA oversees the diabetes treatment program, hypertension program, and patient education programs as needed.
Duties
- Provide primary care to our patients.
- Perform medication reconciliation.
- Perform patient callbacks.
- Educate patients and families about health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Back up clinic support staff (RN, MA, etc.) as needed.
- Meet weekly with the Medical Director, and as needed to review progress, consult on individual cases, and address questions and concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Stay current with advancements in medical practices, policies, and procedures for free and charitable clinics.
- Actively participate in local clinic events, volunteer recognition, health fairs, fundraisers and other community events as needed.
- OSHA and CLIA compliance under the Medical Director.
- Comply with grant requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant in Georgia.
- Minimum one year experience as an NP or PA.
- Current BLS; ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements.
- Experience in a clinic setting and understanding of how free and charitable clinics work as a model for healthcare delivery to underserved populations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and Macon Volunteer Clinic team members.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care while adhering to ethical standards in medical practice.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $88,000.00 – $96,000.00 per year
