LICENSE CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must be certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
  • Must have California licensure as a Physician Assistant under the supervision of an NOI physician upon hire
  • Maintains prescribing and dispensing privileges in California
  • Must provide evidence of application for DEA certificate upon hire, obtain DEA certificate within 90 days of hire, and maintain certificate thereafter unless waived by NOI
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be maintained
  • Maintains ACLS and PALS certification as required by specific department or division

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years experience in orthopedics required
  • Patient, empathetic, and compassionate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs
  • Ability to manage an appropriate work life balance and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting
  • Strong computer skills in an EMR preferred (NextGen or EPIC a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills to excel in a high-volume practice

  • To represent the NOI by providing outstanding medical service to our patients
  • Works in collaboration with Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon(s) and affiliated team members
  • Position does not require rounding responsibilities, nor any on-call responsibilities
  • Position primarily focuses on medication management and medication refills
  • Participates in some clinical procedures
  • Participates in some pre-op and post-op clinical care
  • Acts as a surgical first assist
  • The provision of care includes, but is not limited to: obtaining patient history, comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the therapeutic interventions
  • Makes appropriate referrals and documents patient care service in manner that is compliant
  • Demonstrates collaboration on committees and team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice through performance improvement initiatives
  • Remains active in professional organizations and participates in community activities

Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, and twist. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee may work under stressful conditions and work irregular hours. Employee will be exposed to body fluids on a regular basis.

Pay Range: $125k-$140k per year
