This is a 1099 (independent contractor) PRN position
Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday/8:30am-5:30pm

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you’ll examine patients, diagnose injuries and illnesses, and provide treatment to H-E-B Partners and their families, ensuring the highest quality patient-centered care. You’ll work with an integrated team of healthcare providers, focusing on complex chronic care patients with the goal of improving patient health outcomes. You’ll also support clinic operations by providing patient care for other routine and acute care visits. Do you have a: HEART FOR PEOPLE… desire to focus on patient care and patient relationships?   • a graduate degree from an accredited NP/PA program; 3+ years of experience
  • current, valid State of Texas RN & APRN licenses; current, unrestricted DEA
*For PA: Board certification by the NCCPA; current,unrestricted license to practice in Texas

  • advanced interpersonal and counseling skills; ability to work as part of an integrated healthcare team to provide an exceptional patient experience

What is the work?

Patient Care:

  • Interviews patients; takes medical histories; assesses patient health; performs physical examinations; administers injections/ immunizations; performs suturing, splinting, casting; manages wounds and infections
  • Instructs / counsels patients; explains treatments and medications; counsels / promotes emotional and physical health and wellness
  • Obtains / studies medical histories; documents patient and clinic records
  • Administers / orders diagnostic tests; interprets results; makes diagnoses; prescribes medications and other treatments

– Identifies short- / long-range patient care issues; recommends courses of action; implements physician directives

  • Provides / ensures continuity of care; develops / implements patient care management plans
  • Complies / ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, and infection control protocols and policies
  • Develops health care team staff; provides training and educational / growth opportunities
  • Maintains professional / technical knowledge; reviews professional journals; establishes personal network; participates in educational workshops and professional associations
  • Collaborates with clinic staff to recommend / improve patient care practices, and clinic guidelines and workflow
  • Ensures adherence to HIPAA regulations

What is your background?

  • Master’s degree in advanced practice nursing from an accredited program or
  • Graduate degree from an accredited PA Program; Board certification by the NCCPA; Current
  • 3+ years of health care experience
  • Current valid RN License
  • Current, unrestricted State of Texas APRN license or
  • For PA: Unrestricted license to practice in Texas
  • Current, unrestricted DEA
  • AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card
