Urgent need for Physician Assistant – General Surgery – Farmington, CT Location.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations to determine the necessity of surgical interventions.
- Perform a variety of surgical procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including monitoring patients’ recovery and addressing any complications that may arise.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to advance surgical techniques and improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation related to medical coding and patient care protocols.
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and post-surgical care requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and practices through continuous education and training.
Schedule: 3-12hr shifts per week
On call: NoCases: Procedures required: I&D, debridement, chest tube, NGT
Details:Worksite Setting: Inpatient
Scope of Work: Avg 25-40 patients per shift; split between two teams and vascular surgery during days. Night shift patients split between two providers. Inpatient general surgery, trauma, vascular, plastics, colorectal, surgical oncology, and thoracic services.
Rounding; Consults; Respond to trauma; OR coverage; Comfortable working independently.
