Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The practice is an established solo physician bariatric and general surgery practice.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and work collaboratively with the physician and other healthcare professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of medical practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical histories.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Perform various medical procedures such as abscess drainage, suture/staple removal, basic wound care.
• Utilize Athena for electronic record management and documentation.
• Provide telehealth services to patients as required, ensuring quality care remotely.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes.
• Educate patients on health maintenance, nutrition and exercise.
• Potentially assist in the operating room for bariatric and general surgery procedures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field from an accredited program.
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
• Experience in bariatrics or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically Athena is preferable but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and practices is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings prior to employment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $48.00 – $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
