SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides direct patient care, complex care coordination, administrative functions, teaching, and research services. The NP/PA will serve as a member of a comprehensive team of health care professionals to deliver high quality, efficient, and complex care coordination. Currently staffed by one Sleep Medicine trained physician and clinic medical staff in a busy and expanding clinic. Opportunity exists for assisting in program development, education, and ongoing service line growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to evaluate sleep disorders.
- Administer injections and perform necessary medical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EHR systems.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding sleep health and treatment options.
- Stay updated on advancements in sleep medicine and participate in clinical research as needed.
- Will develop expertise in the management of patients in Sleep Clinics
- Demonstrates a fundamental grounding in nursing/medical practice with mastery of knowledge within a defined content area.
- Manages a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across healthcare settings.
EDUCATION:
Nurse Practitioner
- Masters of Science Degree, Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Specialty certification is required.
- BSN
- Current CA licensure.
Physician Assistant
- Masters of Science Degree, Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current CA licensure
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):
- Outpatient practice experience
- Experience with Sleep Medicine
- Must obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by the 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC)
