SUMMARY The Physician Assistant under the direction of the supervising Physician, is responsible for providing age specific, culturally and ethnically sensitive clinical evaluations, problem assessments, initiation of diagnostic and treatment plans, and educates patients presenting for care. Performs emergency intervention and patient triage. Complies with all rules and regulations of the appropriate licensing board and maintains continuing medical education. By the end of the first year, employee requires M.D. consultation less than 40% of time on Patient Management activities. The job also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, leadership and professional development and other duties assigned by supervising physician, as outlined by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners. QUALIFICATIONS
- Current graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program and certification is required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) and ACLS certification is required
- Previous experience in area of specialty preferred
- Applicant must have a minimum of five (5) years of HIV/ AIDS direct patient care experience working in a mid-level capacity

341 Ponce De Leon Ave. Atlanta, GA 30308 The Ponce De Leon Center is one of the largest, most comprehensive facilities dedicated to the treatment of advanced HIV/AIDS in the United States – one of the top three HIV/AIDS outpatient clinics in the country. Founded in 1986, the Ponce Center and its onsite affiliates provide various medical and support services to approximately 6000 eligible men, women, adolescents, and children living with HIV/AIDS. The Ponce Center integrates primary internal medicine and Infectious Disease subspecialty care in the Main, Family and Transition Clinics. Staffed by doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, nurses and more than 100 interagency staff. Our care teams seamlessly provide onsite medical, support and community services.
