Job Description

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Physician Assistant to provide care for VA members and their families. A physician assistant (PA) is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physician to provide patient care, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and developing treatment plans. PAs play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare access and delivering quality medical services in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Stay informed about advancements in medical practices and participate in continuing education.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Education Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, often with a focus in health sciences or a related field.
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, which usually results in a master’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.

  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation| Min: $67hr Max: $88hr

Benefits – Full-time positions are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
