We are seeking a hardworking Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing primary care/internal medicine practice. The PA will be responsible for assisting patients in maintaining health through preventative screenings, implementing management plans for chronic conditions and diagnosing/treating acute illnesses and injuries. In addition to office patients, the practice provides care to hospital patients. The ideal candidate will have office experience (inpatient experience a plus).
In collaboration with supervising physician, the PA directly manages the care of ill patients in the office and at hospital. The PA is an expert in patient care who provides quality care, performs patient assessments, H & Ps, and takes a thorough medical history. The PA can order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. The PA develops medical diagnoses, appropriate treatment plan, prescribes medical regimen, and educates patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care. The PA works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the practice. The PA is a clinical team leader that intervenes and manages deteriorating patients. The PA integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into their scope of practice. The PA may participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice. The PA participates in and facilitates patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay (if inpatient) and improved patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat internal illnesses of adults 18+, utilizing a variety of methods.
- Perform physicals, order imaging exams, and lab tests to determine the severity of illness.
- Advise patients on preventive measures, diet, and hygiene.
- Communicate with doctors in other specialties.
- Maintain medical records.
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure coverage is available for treatments.
- Alternating on-call schedule.
Qualifications:
Degrees: PA Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Drug Enforcement Administration. Additional Qualifications: 2 years of relevant experience credit required. Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges. Compliant with state requirements for CEUs and licensure renewal. DEA License required as per specialty. Advanced Cardiac Life Support required as per specialty. National Certification.
Compensation:
Competitive Salary commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
