Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team in Orthopedic & Spine Surgery at Orange Orthopedic Medical Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in working with a diverse patient population and collaborating with experienced orthopedic surgeons and spine specialists. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with musculoskeletal and spine conditions, both surgically and non-surgically.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations for both orthopedic and spine surgery patients.
  • Assist orthopedic and spine surgeons in performing diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures, including spine-specific interventions.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with musculoskeletal and spine conditions.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including educating patients on surgical procedures, recovery plans, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Assist in surgeries as a first or second assistant, performing various tasks as directed by the surgeon, with a focus on both orthopedic and spine surgery procedures.
  • Monitor patient progress following surgery, address complications, and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
  • Document patient interactions, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in patient rounds, providing updates and making recommendations for ongoing care and treatment.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in orthopedic and spine surgery techniques and treatment protocols.
  • Ensure exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physical therapists, and radiologists.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification: Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensing: Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, or a related field preferred. New graduates with strong clinical rotations in orthopedics and spine will be considered.
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to assist in complex orthopedic and spine surgeries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both patients and team members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation.

Salary Range: $120,000 + Depending on Experience
