8:00 A.M – 4:00 P.M
Job Description
- Perform complete history and physical examinations for outpatients and inpatients
- Request and Coordinate activities with other providers and patient services including diagnostic tests, radiologic studies and rehabilitation
- Coordinate inpatient care and discharge planning
- Monitor effectiveness of therapeutic measures and interventions Educate and counsel patients and obtain consents
- Formulate a diagnosis, establish priorities for treatment and prescribe and order pharmacologic, surgical and non-surgical interventions
- Schedule patients for surgery and plan for pre-operative testing as required Manage pre- and post- operative patients
- Act as a first assistant in the operating room, assist with basic operative interventions and wound closures delegated and directly supervised by a physician
- Suture basic wounds, draw blood, and perform wound care and administration of locaI anesthetic.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant; and, 2. Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); and, 3. Two years of full time, satisfactory clinical experiences as a Physician Assistant.
