Job SummaryThe Physician Assistant will provide compassionate and personal medical care to patients. They will work independently but serve as a team member within the OBGYN West health care delivery system. They will facilitate and manage full spectrum of professional and patient care activities within the scope of practice and collaborate with the supervising physician in the provision of patient care as needed- This position will provide patient care services in our clinic settings, along with providing surgical assisting in the hospital and ambulatory surgery center settings.
Responsibilities
- Provides prenatal care through initial examination of pregnant patients to assess their health and the health of their baby. Develops personalized care plans for pregnantwomen based on theirindividual needs and preferences. Monitorfetal growth and development during pregnancy. Administer routine prenatal tests to monitor the health of mother and baby. Identify and address any potential risks or complications during pregnancy.
- Perform medical procedures within credentials and scope of practice. Procedures may include, but are not limited to, biopsies, contraceptive rod insertion, and Incision and Drainage (I& D)
- Promotes preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self care skills through education and counseling.
- Provide ongoing postpartum care to ensure the health and wellness of mothers and newborns. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for mothers and newborns.
- Provides well-woman annual exams, birth control counseling and management, menopausal symptoms, vaginitis, abnormal uterine bleeding, prenatal appointments, and other general gynecologic concerns. Provides family planning and sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and treatment for all patients.
- Provides first surgical assistant support to surgeons in laparoscopic, robotic, hysteroscopic, and open procedures. Prepares patientforsurgery, providing any assistance required during surgery, and open wound closure. Sees post op patients and performs pre-op physicals as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- Ability to present and communicate in a professional manner with patients, physicians, office staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to think critically, resolve problems, exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage details. Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent active listening skills and a strong service orientation.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic medical records, especially patient demographics, and scheduling.
- Self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
Work and Education Qualifications:
- A valid and current Minnesota license. License cannot be under investigation nor have any adverse action pending from a State Board or national licensing/certification agency.
- A valid and current DEA Registration
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $99,548.00 – $160,659.00 per year
